37 Pop Culture Publications that Work with Freelance Writers
Payment rates and editorial contact information for 37 publications.
Today, I have a list on the lighter side of things: 37 publications that pay for pop culture writing.
Personally, this is a bit of a relief for the week, as I often am rather worried about politics, climate change, the future for my kids, etc.
So, as a bit of a break from all of that, this week’s list of publishers pay for writing on celebrities, movies, fashion, etc.
As a general observation, there are many publications covering these topics, which is not a surprise. However, they do seem less likely to have pitching guidelines listed, and the advertised rates offered to writers don’t seem to be as high as other, more news focused niches. That being said, there are still many good opportunities listed below.
If you’re a paid subscriber, I encourage you to send me a draft pitch before contacting one of these publications, especially if you’re new to pitching. I would be happy to give feedback on your pitch.
One quick tip, for pitching: Make it clear which “department” of the publication your proposed article will be in. (A department is a “section” of the publication, usually focused on a topic or category of article.)
This is especially important for many of these publications, as they generally have a variety of sections/topics covered.
